Lightpainting Sprays Eisemann Center Grand Foyer With Color Gift By Jim, Gayla Von Ehr Makes "Seven Muses" Possible
The City of Richardson and supporters of the Charles W. Eisemann Center for Performing Arts and Corporate Presentations in Richardson recently celebrated the completion and unveiling of the lightpainting, Seven Muses by internationally renowned artist Stephen Knapp, at a champagne and dessert reception in the Leftwich Grand Foyer. The commission of the lightpainting was made possible by a $250,000 gift to the City from Jim and Gayla Von Ehr of Richardson.
Richland College Accepts 2005 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award
Richland College, the first community college in the United States to receive the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, accepted the nation’s highest presidential honor for quality and organizational excellence on April 19 at a ceremony in Washington, D.C. A delegation of 50 faculty, staff, administrators and students from Richland as well Richardson Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Bill Sproull traveled to Washington to participate in the ceremony sponsored by the White House and the U.S. Department of Commerce. Dr. Stephen K. Mittelstet, Richland College president and a member of the ex-officio board of the Richardson Chamber of Commerce, accepted the award from Vice President Dick Cheney at the ceremony.
Chamber Welcomes 75 New Members The Richardson Chamber of Commerce wrapped up its 2006 Growth and Resources Campaign on April 13. In two days, four teams recruited 75 new members. Added to the 166 recruited last year, and the RCC has added 241 new members via membership drives in less than a year. The event’s top producer was Robert Richmond, of Reliable Chevrolet. He won the coveted Southwest Airlines tickets. The top chairman was Richardson’s Police Chief Larry Zacharias. |
