Rail service on the Cotton Belt line has been part of DART’s long-range master plan for more than 15 years.  DART already owns the 54-mile rail line and right-of-way land. A Cotton Belt line could connect communities throughout Collin County and northern Dallas County from Rowlett and Garland through Richardson, Plano, North Dallas and Addison, all the way to D/FW International Airport and eventually into the heart of Fort Worth.
