May 2005 • Volume 2, Issue 5 This issue home | Action home | Chamber home Richardson Big Winner Of Texas Enterprise Funds $70 Million In Grants Helped Lure TI, Countrywide Projects To City By leveraging its local economic development resources with state funds, Richardson has been able to capture some of the nation's top economic development plums over the past couple of years. One secret to the city's success has been the Texas Enterprise Fund, a $300 million incentive war chest, designed to lure major economic development projects. According to the governor's office, Richardson is leading the state in Enterprise Fund awards, receiving a total of $70 million since the fund's inception in 2003.
Chamber's Annual Banquet To Celebrate Entrepreneurship Countrywide CEO To Keynote Event Set For Friday
The banquet will be held at the Renaissance Richardson Hotel, 900 E. Lookout Drive. Festivities begin at 6 p.m. with a cash bar reception. Local Leaders Gather For First President's Club Reception The Richardson Chamber of Commerce held its first President's Club reception for 2005 on April 4 at the home of Jim and Gayla Von Ehr. Jim Von Ehr is the founder and CEO of Zyvek Corporation, a nanotechnology company in Richardson. More than 35 presidents and CEOs joined city leaders and U.S. Reps. Pete Sessions and Sam Johnson at the Von Ehr's to network and learn about what's going on in local and federal government. Hors de oeuvres were provided by Woodstone Catering. |
